A TORRE DE SAN SADURNIÑO PROTAGONIZARÁ A WIKIMEDIA COMMONS

O próximo 25 de xullo a Torre de San Sadurniño será portada de Wikimedia Commons a nivel mundial (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page). 


 A páxina, que alberga os arquivos das Wikipedias en todas as línguas, contén trinta e dous millóns e medio de fotografías. Delas, só o 0,027% acadan a máxima categoría, e daí selecciónase á que durante 24 horas encabezará a portada. O autor da fotografía chámase Diego Delso, e esta será a descrición:
"View of the coastal tower of San Saturniño, Cambados, province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. The remains of the fortification are probably part of the first settlement in the area of Cambados. The fortification, a state monument of Spain, dates from the second half of the 10th century and was destructed betweeen 1466 and 1470 during the Irmandiño revolts. The fortification had several functions: residence, watching tower and lighthouse."
